What's in my shaker?

I get asked this a lot.

First up ... do you need a protein shake?

It depends.

See my previous blog about Exercise Calories as this goes into how hard you are training.

- if you are training 'moderate' or 'hard' then this has a place in your diet.


I drink 1/2 during training and the rest straight after.

Protein powder

- 40g

- I use vegan protein powder as I am allergic to cow milk

- but whey is fine of you are okay with dairy


- 14 to 20g

- I use this simple carbohydrate if I am doing high intensity sections in my training (which I nearly always am)

Creatine Monohydrate

- 5g

- everyday, I even have this on non training days


- follow directions of the one you use

- I use the one pictured after a great deal of research on quantities of elements included in the product.
